PIERRE, S.D.—The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department is surveying some Black Hills residents to measure their attitudes about wildlife.

It’s part of a Colorado State University pilot study conducted on behalf of game and fish agencies in the western United States.

Information gathered will include where people live and what they think about wildlife. Game officials say the survey has far-reaching applications for wildlife management in western states.
