A glance at reveals the San Francisco-based singer-songwriter’s style as a blend of folk and rock, but the songs from Nathanson’s latest platter, “Some Mad Hope,” hew far closer to the sort of radio-ready, pop-rock sheen that coats many TV drama soundtracks (and, in fact, Nathanson’s songs have been featured on “One Tree Hill,” “Private Practice,” “NCIS,” “Scrubs” and others).
That obivously helps Nathanson connect with a much larger audience than modest touring and occasional talk show appearances would, judging by the packed house at Nathanson’s Nov. 10 show.
