DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Michelle Wie has earned a spot on the LPGA Tour. Wie, 19, opened with three straight bogeys before settling down in blustery conditions Sunday for a 2-over-par 74, easily finishing among the top 20 players at the Q-school to become a card-carrying member of the LPGA Tour.
“It’s a good feeling,” Wie said. “I really earned it. I legitimately went through Q-school.”
• In La Quinta, Calif., Harrison Frazar shot a 69 to increase his lead to five strokes in the PGA Tour qualifying tournament, the six-round test that ends today.
• Larry Nelson made a 20-foot birdie putt on the 17th and went on to a 10-under 62 with his son, Drew, to become the first player to win the Del Webb Father-Son Championship in Orlando, Fla., two straight years with different sons.
• Henrik Stenson of Sweden shot a 4-under 68, cruising to a nine-shot win at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, South Africa.
• Geoff Ogilvy won the Australian PGA in Coolum by two strokes, closing with a 3-under 69.

Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen and assistant head coach Dan McCarney have had discussions with schools about their head coaching vacancies, coach Urban Meyer said.
Meyer said Mullen spoke with Mississippi State about filling the spot left open when Sylvester Croom resigned earlier this month. Meyer said McCarney interviewed with New Mexico. Rocky Long stepped down Nov. 17 at New Mexico after 11 seasons.
• Utah is promoting inside linebackers coach Kalani Sitake to defensive coordinator. Sitake will replace Gary Andersen, who is leaving Utah to become coach at Utah State. Andersen will still get to coach the Utes when they play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2.
• East Carolina coach Skip Holtz hopes to meet with Syracuse’s athletic director, but said he is not close to accepting the Orange’s head coaching job. He called an NFL Network report that he was to be introduced as the new coach today “inaccurate.”
• Tom Osborne isn’t assessing Bo Pelini‘s performance on wins and losses — though the Nebraska athletic director says 8-4 was a “very good” first season for the Cornhuskers’ coach.
• Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, awarded by the Charlotte Touchdown Club to the nation’s top defensive player. Orakpo ranks sixth in the nation with 10 1/2 sacks.

LAS VEGAS — Francisco Rodriguez met with the Mets on the eve of the winter meetings, and pitchers Darren Oliver (Angels) and David Weather (Reds) took themselves off the free-agent market by accepting arbitration offers before Sunday’s deadline.
