PUEBLO, Colo.—A Cripple Creek woman is dead and three others are hurt after a four-vehicle pileup near that city.

The Colorado State Patrol says 44-year-old Wendy Colard was northbound on Colorado 67 about 5:30 p.m. Saturday when she attempted to make a left turn and was hit from behind by a 2001 Honda.

Colard’s 1994 Ford was pushed into oncoming traffic and struck head-on by a 2006 Subaru. Authorities say Colard was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.

The Subaru driver, 64-year-old Ramon Jimenez, and the Honda driver, 77-year-old Rudolfo Martinez, both of Colorado Springs, were treated along with Martinez’s passenger at area hospitals.

The driver of a fourth vehicle Martinez allegedly sideswiped was not hurt.

There was no immediate word on charges.
