AURORA, Colo.—A man shot by Aurora police after authorities say he pointed a gun at them has been released from the hospital and taken to jail.
Aurora police spokeswoman Shannon Youngquist-Lucy says 28-year-old Kevin Kim faces a felony menacing charge because of the incident Saturday morning. Lucy says police responded to his house because he was threatening to kill himself.
Lucy says when police arrived Kim pointed a gun at them and an officer shot him once in his upper body.
The officer was placed on administrative leave, which is normal procedure at police departments after shootings.
The shooting was the second in less than two weeks for Aurora police. On Dec. 2, an officer shot and killed an 18-year-old accused of pointing a gun at them as he ran away.
