An airman was found guilty of “wrongful sexual contact” during a court-martial last week at the Air Force Academy and sentenced to six months’ confinement.
Airman 1st Class Derick R. Thompson was not a cadet and was attached to the 10th Medical Support Squadron, officials at the Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs said in a news release.
A panel of military officers on Friday found him guilty of “wrongful sexual contact, indecent acts, assault consummated by battery, dereliction of duty for providing alcohol to minors, using a government vehicle for personal use and failure to obey a lawful order,” the release said.
In addition to his time in confinement, Thompson was demoted to a grade E-1 and received a bad-conduct discharge from the service.
