Move over, Barney Fife. GI Joe is the new sheriff in town. Hitler had a homeland. Stalin had a homeland. Now you have one, too.

Our newfound homeland needs securing. The United States military has the final solution. Since Oct. 1, the Army’s 3rd Infantry 1st Brigade Combat Team have been on their self-proclaimed “Brigade Homeland Tour.” Sounds like they’d be on the road opening for Metallica.

According to the Army’s website, , the 1st BCT is “an on-call federal response force for natural or” (get this) “man-made emergencies and disasters.” They list as a shining example of good, old-fashioned American ingenuity the roll-out of active duty units during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath.

You remember, when they marched door to door to confiscate firearms from law-abiding citizens simply wanting to protect themselves from looters and misfortune’s opportunists?

This homeland tour is per special request from NorthCom, who the Army explains, provides “command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinates defense support of civil authorities.”

That’s correct. Their expectation is that this fun-filled extravaganza will be touring the purple mountain majesties and gilded fields of grain on a permanent basis.

The Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the federal government from using the military in a law enforcement capacity in this country.

Why was this law set in place? So that a minority of misguided megalomaniacs could not subvert the will of the people of the United States on behalf of their own avaricious schemes.

The article also states, “They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control.”

Let’s say that our financial bucket completely drops out and the frustrated masses come out to protest these shady hand-outs the financiers have been doling out to their partners in crime.

The military could be brought in to make sure that there is not an ounce of resistance that could stem the tide from shifting us from our current socialism into a full-blown, chronic despotism.

Anyone in town during the Democratic National Convention this year knows that Denver had become a militarized zone with the implementation of terrorist attack exercises which included a swarm of Black Hawk helicopters and personnel carriers buzzing downtown high-rises.

Black operation units swung like Tarzan from these same roof-tops. Why did we have no explanation as to who these men in black were?

There seems to be a shroud of secrecy around this operation and a strictly need-to-know attitude. Our military, our government, for that matter, are our employees.

We are the employers and they must acknowledge us as such. The Constitution is more than “just a piece of paper” as President George W. Bush flippantly stated. We do have certain inalienable rights bestowed upon us by our Creator.

God’s will trumps and supercedes all false doctrine that would file any human being as second- and third-class citizens. It is a crime of the most obscene nature to live one’s life without freedom to choose your destiny.

If those who would imprison the body, soul, and spirit are not met with a holy opposition than we are nothing more than slaves and should not ever expect more than an occasional handout from our handlers.

It is not a crime to desire honest men to fill the highest seats of authority in this land. Our rational expostulations must be heard and will be heard, if we know what’s good for us.

This blatant attempt at establishing martial law is as anti-American as the Patriot Act and the blanket immunity guaranteed the telecoms under the FISA Act who without apology or recompense spied on us because (whether or not you believe it) we are all suspect.

Is this our legacy? If so, it would better to have never been born.
