DURANGO, Colo.—A Texas man has died after skiing at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, but it’s not clear what caused his death.
La Plata County sheriff’s spokesman Dan Bender says it appears 55-year-old James Blanchette of Alvin may have died of natural causes Monday, but an autopsy is pending.
Bender says some skiers found him collapsed and unresponsive on a run, and CPR was unsuccessful in saving him.
