BOULDER, Colo.—A 41-year-old Erie man died in the crash of his sewage truck, which hit a canyon wall west of Boulder.

The Colorado State Patrol has identified the driver as Randy Snyder. The patrol says Snyder died Saturday when his tanker truck didn’t make a curve on Colorado 119, went off the left side of the road and struck a mountainside, several trees and rolled.

Troopers are investigating what caused the accident.

Some liquid sewage spilled into Boulder Creek, but a hazardous materials team was called off because the authorities said the leak wasn’t significant.

Sheila Nessler, who with her husband owns Columbia Sanitary Services in Golden, told the Daily Camera that her company owns the truck that crashed in Boulder Canyon.
