Did you see the crab dribble in Sunday’s Cavaliers-Wizards game? No, but I saw the lobster tail-ing the clam on a give-and-go. Ba-da-boom . . .
LeBron James used the term “crab dribble” to explain his move in the final seconds of Cleveland’s loss Sunday to Washington. James was called for traveling while driving for the potential tying basket with 2.3 seconds left.
After the game, King James said: “I watched it again, and I took a ‘crab dribble,’ which is a hesitation dribble, and then two steps.”
In an Associated Press story Monday, Wizards all-star forward Antawn Jamison was asked if he knows what a “crab dribble” is. “I know what a traveling is.”
Washington’s other all-star forward, Caron Butler, added his opinion. ” ‘Crab dribble’ is when you, uh, travel.”
Butler said he thought James switched his pivot foot. “I couldn’t do it in AAU, I couldn’t do it in college,” Butler said, “and obviously I can’t do it now.”
