DENVER—Summary of bills introduced Wednesday in the Colorado Legislature:
— Doubling the vehicle registration fee from $1 to $2 to pay for emergency medical services (Senate Bill 2).
— Requiring cat owners to ensure their pets have identification, either on or inside the body (House Bill 1019).
— Recognizing Sept. 11 as an optional state holiday in recognition of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States (House Bill 1045).
— Requiring slowpoke drivers to pull over if they have five or more vehicles backed up behind them (House Bill 1042).
— Prohibiting illegal immigrants from pleading guilty to a crime if it would allow them to avoid deportation (House Bill 1049).
