COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Two people are dead after two separate but related accidents in El Paso County, including a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and sent his wife and children to a hospital.

Authorities say Raul Cordoza was driving east on Colorado 94 when a 21-year-old man driving a Chevy Impala south on the Peyton highway ran a stop sign a broadsided Cordoza’s car.

Cordoza was killed. His wife and two children were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Their conditions are unknown.

The suspect then allegedly stole a Land Rover belonging to a Good Samaritan who had stopped to help, then drove some 15 miles before losing control on a curve and rolling the SUV.

That crash killed the suspect.

His name hasn’t been released.
