LINCOLN, Neb. — All-Big 12 defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh said he will return to Nebraska for his senior season.
Suh said it’s his priority to graduate with his degree in construction management before leaving.
“First, you can’t put a price on graduating from college, and I will leave here with my degree,” said Suh, who led the Huskers with 76 tackles, including 7 1/2 sacks. He also intercepted two passes, running back both for touchdowns, with the second occurring Nov. 28 in a 40-31 victory over Colorado.
• Florida quarterback Tim Tebow had surgery to remove a bone spur from his right shoulder and was expected to be ready for spring practice in April.
• Florida State safety Myron Rolle, who won a Rhodes scholarship in November, said he will study at Oxford instead of entering this year’s NFL draft. He will seek a one-year master’s degree in medical anthropology.
• Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle, who recorded 10 sacks as a junior, said he will return to the Longhorns for his senior season in 2009.
• Utah defensive end Paul Kruger, a sophomore who had a team-high 7 1/2 sacks, and junior defensive back Sean Smith are entering the 2009 NFL draft.
• Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora received a contract extension through 2012.
Luongo “back to 100 percent”
VANCOUVER, B.C. — Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo returned to practice and declared he is “back to 100 percent” after missing most of the last two months with a groin injury. But the two-time Vezina Trophy finalist said he is “doubtful” for tonight’s game against New Jersey.
