The Denver Post comics pages debut a new strip this week, “Rip Haywire,” drawn by North Carolina artist Dan Thompson in the spirit of classic action adventure tales, but with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
The silly send-up stars the brave and square-jawed Rip Haywire, who lives for danger, along with Haywire’s cowardly dog, TNT, and his dangerous ex-girlfriend Cobra.
