When we asked entrants to the Denver Post $25 Haiku Contest to write about “skiing,” we could not have anticipated that someone would be pantsed by a chairlift in Vail. But news happens, and poets responded accordingly. Crystal Mars of Aurora gave us a giggle with her fit-for-a-family-newspaper assessment:

I board the chairlift

God please don’t let me fall off!

Are my pants on tight?
