GREELEY, Colo.—A Washington lobbyist and spokesman for JBS Swift & Co. says the meatpacker has laid off several front office people at its headquarters in Greeley.
Chandler Keys told the Greeley Tribune about the layoffs that happened mostly in human resources but he did not provide numbers. A message left for company officials was not immediately returned.
Industry observers say meatpackers across the country are struggling with the impacts from the downturn in the economy as consumers cut back on spending.
