Cold play

A little chill in the air doesn’t stop a dedicated runner from exercising, and it won’t keep more than 300 from turning out for Estes Park’s annual Frost Giant 5K and 10K races on Sunday. Runners in 10 age groups, from 8-year-olds to those 70 and older, meet at the Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Ave., and follow a course through the MacGregor Ranch pastures before returning to the starting point. The 5K race is at 11 a.m.; the 10K at noon. The late Chip Salaun, a triathlete, mountaineer, author and environmentalist, co-founded the race 30 years ago. Preregistration, $11-$21, may be completed at , or download race information and a registration form at . Call 970-586-8191.
