NEW YORK — Paul McCartney is free to marry girlfriend Nancy Shevell because New York courts have issued a final decree in her pending divorce, two British newspapers reported Sunday.
The Sunday Mirror and the Sunday Telegraph reported that McCartney, 65, had gotten the approval of his children to marry Shevell, 47.
Attorneys for the law firm representing Shevell did not immediately respond to a Newsday request for comment Sunday.
The Telegraph reported that “Sir Paul has known Nancy socially for more than 30 years.” Newsday
