DENVER—Three men who were killed in November and found in northeast Denver have been identified.
Denver police said Wednesday the victims were 22-year-old Jose Alfredo Deleon-Yanez, 17-year-old Irvin Herrera-Gonzalez and 39-year-old Augustine Puente-Yanez.
Deleon-Yanez’s body found on Nov. 5 in a parking lot on Syracuse Street. Herrera-Gonzalez and Puente-Yanez were discovered hours later in an alley between Elm and Fairfax streets. All three had been shot more than once.
Puente-Yanez is Deleon-Yanez’s uncle. Authorities continue to look for a connection between the shootings but noted Wednesday they don’t appear to be random.
Police said in a statement they didn’t release the names sooner “in an effort to avoid possible compromise to the investigation.”
