Air Force sophomore Nick Stockdale won the senior mixed foil championship at the Falcon Open fencing tournament Sunday at Cadet Gymnasium, leading three Falcons fencers with individual victories in the two-day event. On Saturday, junior Peter French won the senior mixed epee title, and junior Michael O’Connor won the senior mixed saber event.
Cey stops 38 in Eagles’ win.
The Colorado Eagles jumped to a 3-0 lead and rode goaltender Morgan Cey’s solid performance to a 5-2 victory over the New Mexico Scorpions in a Central Hockey League game Saturday in Loveland. Cey stopped 38 shots to lead the Eagles (34-6-2), who have the CHL’s best record.
Rage’s rally falls short.
The Rocky Mountain Rage mounted a late rally but fell short in a 5-4 loss to the Arizona Sundogs in Prescott Valley, Ariz. The Rage (23-19-4) scored two power-play goals in less than 60 seconds with 4:02 remaining to pull within one.
