Colorado Springs firefighters pulled an unconscious woman from her burning home Tuesday and revived her.

Alice Heisten, 66, who may have suffered a heart attack, was taken to Memorial Hospital, said Lt. Kriss Soppe, a Colorado Springs Fire Department spokesman.

The fire broke out at about 10:30 a.m. at 24 Cheyenne Blvd., Heisten’s single-story home, Soppe said.

When firefighters arrived, “heavy fire and smoke was showing from the front of the residence,” Soppe said.

Heisten did not suffer any serious burns in the fire, Soppe said.

About 28 firefighters fought the stubborn blaze; no firefighters were injured.

The home, in the southwestern part of the city, suffered “considerable damage,” Soppe said. The dollar estimate was put at about $140,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Details on Heisten’s condition were not available.
