LAWRENCE, Kan. — Cole Aldrich had 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds Saturday and Kansas stretched its nation’s-best home winning streak to 37 with a victory over Oklahoma State.
The 6-foot-11 Aldrich, wearing a face mask to protect his broken nose, had 10 rebounds as the Jayhawks (19-4, 8-0) raced to a 37-24 halftime lead.
Mario Little added 13 points for Kansas, which returned to the national rankings last week for the first time since December.
Oklahoma State (14-8, 3-5) got 19 points from Obi Muonelo and 18 from Moses Marshall.
It was the 13th double-double for Aldrich, a sophomore whose previous rebound high was 16. Bill Self won for the 91st time in 97 home games as Kansas coach.
Kansas St. 65, Texas A&M 60
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Jacob Pullen scored 16 points and had one of two key 3-pointers late to lead Kansas State to a win over Texas A&M.
The win was the fifth straight for the Wildcats (16-7, 5-4), who have made an impressive turnaround from an 0-4 start in Big 12 play.
The Aggies (17-7, 3-6) had cut the lead to one thanks to a 7-2 run before Pullen and Fred Brown scored consecutive 3-pointers to give Kansas State a 64-57 lead with less than a minute to play.
Missouri 82, Iowa St. 68
AMES, Iowa — DeMarre Carroll followed a below-average outing at Texas with one of the best games of his career, helping Missouri reach the 20-win mark for the first time since 2002-03.
Carroll scored a career-high 31 points and Missouri never trailed in beating Iowa State.
Kim English added 16 for the Tigers (20-4, 7-2), who shot 57 percent from the field and 9-of-16 from 3-point range in picking up their seventh win in eight games.
Texas Tech 83, Baylor 76
LUBBOCK, Texas — Alan Voskuil and John Roberson each scored 18 points to lead Texas Tech (11-12, 2-6) over Baylor, ending the Red Raiders’ four-game losing streak.
Baylor (15-8, 3-6) let a 12-point lead midway through the second half evaporate and scored only one field goal in the final 3:29 of the game in its fifth straight loss. Back-to-back steals by Michael Prince and D’walyn Roberts with less than 2 minutes remaining kept the Bears from pulling close down the stretch. The Associated Press
