The Colorado State Patrol today released the name of the 18-year-old woman killed in a rollover crash off Interstate 70 in Mesa County at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday.
Samantha Ann Loy from Grand Junction was killed when her Oldsmobile sedan ran into the median from the eastbound lane of I-70 at mile marker 23.
She wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle as it ran off the road in a curve, according to the highway patrol.
The Mesa County Coroner’s office said this afternoon that alcohol was a contributing factor.
