Three goats and a goose died this morning in a barn fire in Douglas County.

The fire started before 6 a.m. at 7777 N. Delbert Road, southeast of Parker near the Elbert County line, said Andy Lyon, a South Metro Fire Rescue spokesman.

The barn was “fully involved” in flames and smoke when firefighters arrived at the scene.

Three goats and a goose died in the fire, Lyon said.

About 30 firefighters with South Metro, Elizabeth and the Rattlesnake fire departments fought the blaze.

No firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The barn is a complete loss.
