Eighteen Denver Post journalists and the entire photo staff were winners Thursday night as the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists announced its annual awards.
The group honored work published between Sept. 2, 2007, and Aug. 31, 2008, in several categories, including stories, columns, blogs and features published solely online.
The Post journalists honored are:
Felisa Cardona for Legal Affairs Reporting for exposing how a non-lawyer fooled the local federal court and was allowed to represent a woman on trial for soliciting a murder.
Lindsay Jones for General Sports Reporting for her stories about Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall.
David Migoya for General Business Reporting for “The Price of Disparity.”
Tucker Shaw for Criticism for his columns on food.
Michael Riley for Political Reporting for his stories about the relationship between a Senate candidate and lobbyist Jack Abramoff’s firm.
Mike Keefe for Editorial cartoons.
Allison Sherry, Tom McGhee and Kirk Mitchell for Breaking News for coverage of shootings at a youth- group residence in Arvada and New Life Church in Colorado Springs.
Keith Morse for Online Interactive project for The Post’s Datacenter.
Jack Farrell, RJ Sangosti, Jeff Neumann, Meghan Lyden and Liv Gold for General Online Reporting for “The Democrats.”
