DALLAS — Now that the former first family has left the White House, the Bushes have to deal with some real-world annoyances: getting their morning newspaper on time.

In an interview broadcast Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” former first lady Laura Bush said: “People bring the newspaper to us later in the day; it’s just not being delivered to us yet.”

Jim Moroney, publisher and chief executive of The Dallas Morning News, said carriers trying to make their deliveries to the Bush home in Dallas were forced to leave the paper with police guards rather than deliver it to the house. A Bush spokesman said the problem had been resolved and the Bushes were receiving the paper on time.
