LITTLETON — Arapahoe County sheriff’s officials are looking for two people suspected of taking five snakes from a PetSmart store.
An employee who arrived for work around 4 a.m. Saturday told authorities the glass to the front doors had been shattered by a rock.
A banded California kingsnake, an albino corn snake, a corn snake and two ball pythons were missing. The kingsnake was found dead in the parking lot near the entrance. Sheriff’s officials say the suspects probably dropped the snake, and it died of exposure to the elements.
Sheriff’s officials say a security camera caught images of two men wearing white sweatshirts, jeans and black ski masks.
