BANSKO, Bulgaria—American Lindsey Vonn has won the downhill championship after race in Bulgaria.

The 24-year-old clinched her second straight title in the disciple—the only American to do so since Picabo Street in 1995 and 1996.

Vonn finished in 12th place Friday, but her time of 1 minute, 48.0 seconds was enough to win with only one downhill race remaining on the circuit.

Vonn also leads the overall standings with a 336-point lead over Germany’s Maria Riesch in the overall tally.

Austrian Andrea Fischbacher won Friday’s race in 1:45.81 seconds.
