The ongoing blasting operations on U.S. 285 on Crow Hill north of Bailey — which have been underway for several months — will continue Thursday when the highway will be closed for about 30 minutes beginning at 1 p.m.

The Colorado Department of Transportation is building a new interchange at the site.

The project includes construction of two bridges, retaining walls and a storm sewer.

Although most of the blasting is being done on top of the hill, the project has resulted in traffic being reduced from four lanes to two lanes in the general area of the bridge and retaining-wall construction during the duration of the project.

It is expected to be completed in September.
