DENVER—Colorado State University’s campus police chief, suspended in December pending a personnel investigation, has resigned.
The school announced Dexter Yarbrough’s resignation Friday.
CSU interim president Tony Frank said he and Yarbrough agreed that his resignation was in the best interest of the CSU police department and the university.
No further explanation was given, and no listed home phone number for Yarbrough could be found.
Frank placed Yarbrough on indefinite paid administrative leave Dec. 19 for an unspecified “noncriminal” matter.
Fort Collins police, citing concerns about a conflict of interest, asked the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to join the ensuing investigation. School officials said that investigation was nearly complete.
