A driver plowed into the rear end of a parked car on East Colfax Avenue last night and when firefighters arrived they discovered the driver had been shot.
The victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died.
The incident is being investigated by the Denver Police Department’s Homicide Unit, said Sonny Jackson, a police spokesman.
The crash happened at about 8:25 p.m. on the 7200 block of East Colfax Avenue, Jackson said.
Investigators are trying to determine if the unidentified man was shot while he was driving, or if he was shot elsewhere and then drove away.
No one was in the parked car and the driver was alone in his vehicle.
