LINCOLN, Neb.—The state Game and Parks Commission will be stocking 17 Nebraska lakes this month in anticipation of spring fishing.
The lakes—all in eastern or central Nebraska—will be stocked with 10-inch rainbow trout. The number of fish added to each lake will vary from 1,000 to 4,250.
The following lakes will be stocked: Niobrara State Park pond, Qwest Lake at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, Windmill State Recreation Area Lake No. 1 near Gibbon, Holdrege City Park Lake, Ord City Pond, Weeping Water Lake, Fremont SRA Lake No. 5, Auburn Fairgrounds pond, TaHaZouka Park Lake in Norfolk, Such’s Lake in Grand Island, Lake Halleck in Papillion, Holmes Lake in Lincoln, Barnett Park Pond in McCook, Pawnee Park East Pond in Columbus, Heartwell Park in Hastings, Lexington City Park Lake and Steinhart Park pond in Nebraska City.
Tentative stocking dates are March 25 to 28.
