FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Brett Green scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half to lead Peyton to a 51-44 victory over Valley in the high school 3A boys semifinals Friday night.

Green, who was 1-for-6 shooting in the first half, sank 5-of-11 shots in the final two quarters for Peyton (23-2), winners of 23 in a row. Chandler Bartlett added 15 points for Peyton, which defeated Valley 70-35 in the regular season.

Jarrod Huwa had 22 points for Valley (20-7), which saw its modest four-game winning streak snapped. Ben Dellenbach finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds and had 10 points in the first half as Valley built a 23-16 lead.

Green, who had 48 points a day earlier, provided Peyton with its first lead, 24-23, with three free throws and a 3-point basket early in the second half. Nelson Van Tassel and Green had a basket each in the last 2:48 of the third quarter to put Peyton ahead 32-28.

Green came out of the game with 4:23 left to play after picking up his fourth foul, but Bartlett scored six straight points for Peyton to increase its lead to 45-35. Valley closed the gap to 47-44 on two free throws by Huwa with 28 seconds left, but Bartlett sealed the win by hitting four free throws.
