ST. CHARLES, Mo.—Chevelle Herring had 17 points and Creighton set a record for points allowed to beat Drake 53-35 in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament Saturday night.

Creighton (21-10) closed the game with a 15-0 run and set a tournament mark for fewest points allowed, breaking the record of 40 set by Bradley in 1994. The Bluejays move on to face Evansville, which beat Bradley in overtime in the other semifinal, in Sunday’s championship game.

Drake (19-12) shot juts 13-of-49 from the floor, but was still within 36-33 after Rachael Hackbarth scored on a putback with just over five minutes left. But the Bulldogs went more than four minutes without scoring after that as Creighton pulled away.

Lauren Dybing led Drake with 10 points and seven rebounds.
