DENVER—The University of Denver’s leading scorer will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The team announced Saturday that center Tyler Ruegsegger will miss the rest of the season with a partial tear to a knee ligament.

The Lakewood, Colo., native has a team-best 15 goals, including 12 on the power play. He was the star of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoff opener, scoring consecutive goals within 1:58 of the second period.

Ruegsegger was hurt Friday in a 3-2 comeback victory over Alaska-Anchorage.

The Pioneers are now without their top two centers. Tyler Bozak has missed the past 18 games. Bozak is scheduled to return in late March for DU’s NCAA Tournament first-round game.
