GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A Delta man is dead as the result of a two-vehicle crash on Colorado 92.
The Colorado State Patrol says 41-year-old Ramiro Quezada was westbound on the highway at about 9 a.m. Saturday when his Geo Metro convertible crossed the center line and hit the driver’s side door of a Dodge Ram pickup.
The convertible then struck the pickup’s rear tire and a trailer the pickup was pulling.
State Patrol Cpl. Duane Larson says the convertible’s air bag deployed and Quezada was wearing a seatbelt, but that he could not have survived his injuries.
The pickup driver, 54-year-old Ki Nelson of Delta, escaped injury, as did two passengers.
Larson says the trailer was carrying a donkey that was injured.
The animal was expected to recover.
