A Denver woman accused of hiring an undercover cop posing as a hit man to kill her ex-husband, an Aspen prosecutor, appeared in court today.
Elinor Dvir, 36, faces felony charges of solicitation to commit murder and solicitation to commit first-degree assault, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
Dvir is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. She will be assigned a public defender.
Dvir allegedly offered an undercover police officer posing as a hit man $2,000 to kill her former husband, Richard Nedlin, court records say. The “hit” offer was recorded by police.
Nedlin and Dvir are in the midst of a custody battle over their child, according to court records.
She wanted her ex-husband killed, in part, to gain custody, according to an arrest affidavit in the case.
