A 5-foot-long boa constrictor slithered away uninjured Monday afternoon after a pickup plowed through a Northglenn townhouse the snake had just begun to call home.

The snake was stretched out on a pool table at 11166 Gaylord St. on Monday afternoon when a pickup raced up an embankment, went airborne and crashed through the side of the house, shattering the pool table, police said.

The driver appeared to have suffered a medical emergency but was not seriously injured, according to firefighters. His name was not released.

Mike Prasad, his girlfriend and a buddy were carrying a 150-gallon aquarium out the door when they saw the truck.

The couple’s three other snakes and two dogs were safely tucked away, but the Columbian red-tail boa was still making itself at home.

As emergency workers removed the driver from the truck and then the truck from the home — the snake emerged, rattled, but apparently unharmed.

“I just got it today,” Prasad said of his new pet.
