A man and woman who died Sunday in a motorcycle crash near Fort Collins were identified today by the Colorado State Patrol.
The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. near Mulberry Street and the Interstate 25 Frontage Road, the State Patrol said.
The victims were Joseph Reed, 25, of Fort Collins and Shallie Reed, 24, of Thornton, his passenger.
Both died at the scene, the State Patrol said. Neither was wearing a helmet.
Reed, driving a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, was southbound on the east Frontage Road when the bike approached a curve at a high rate of speed and began to skid, the patrol said. The motorcycle laid down, and the pair were ejected.
