ALAMOSA, Colo.—A 15-year-old boy is dead after he wrecked his dirt bike and was thrown about 90 feet near Monte Vista, in Rio Grande County.
The Colorado State Patrol says Brett Koehn of Monte Vista was riding his dirt bike in a field on Saturday when he lost control and crashed. He died at the scene.
The patrol says drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, but it has not been determined if Koehn was wearing a helmet.
An investigation is under way by the patrol and the Rio Grande County coroner’s office.
