LITTLETON — Six homes were evacuated Tuesday night because of a major gas leak after a plumbing company hit a main line between two houses.

The West Metro Fire Department says it happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 10000 block of West Grand Avenue in Littleton.

In addition to the six evacuated homes, residents of two other homes have been allowed to stay in their homes because they have mobility issues.

Xcel Energy responded to fix the lines so folks could get back in their houses
