OMAHA, Neb.—Lincoln police have cited a Colorado man accused of stealing almost $22,000 from his 82-year-old mother.
Officer Katie Flood says Randy Atwood of Colorado Springs, Colo., forged checks on his mother’s account totaling $21,994 from the summer of 2007 through December 2008.
Flood says the woman and her trustee discovered the forged checks and contacted police in December. Police asked Atwood to travel to Lincoln regarding the matter, and he was cited Thursday on suspicion of felony theft.
