OMAHA, Neb.—University of Nebraska at Omaha athletic director David Miller has stepped down to take the same position at Upper Iowa.

Miller’s decision was announced Monday at a news conference at the Division II school in Fayette, Iowa. He starts there in May.

Miller has been the athletic director at UNO since May 2007, replacing David Herbster, who resigned amid allegations that school administrators were misusing athletic funds.

Miller had been the associate athletic director at Southern Methodist. He’s a native of Manning, Iowa.

UNO Chancellor John Christensen will head a committee to select Miller’s replacement.

An interim replacement has not been named.
