DENVER—KMGH-TV in Denver has won a Peabody Award for an investigation of the deaths of children under the protection of the Denver Department of Human Services.
The award was announced Wednesday by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
The KMGH series, titled “Failing the Children: Deadly Mistakes,” was done by reporter John Ferrugia, producers Art Kane and Tom Burke and photojournalist Jason Foster.
The Peabody judges cited KMGH’s “persistent investigation” and noted the station broadened it into a statewide story.
