COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A 20-year-old Colorado Springs man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of his 60-year-old mother.
Police said Wednesday that Christopher Benjamin Weiler (WHEELER) was arrested early Tuesday near a relative’s home in Denver.
He is being held without bail at the El Paso County jail. He hasn’t been formally charged and it wasn’t known if he had an attorney.
Weiler’s mother, Florence Mina Miller-Weiler, was found dead in her Colorado Springs home on Monday. The coroner says she died of blunt force trauma to her head.
Police say the mother and son lived in the home.
Miller-Weiler was a retired middle school science teacher.
