SUPCO–PREGNANT KILLING

OMAHA—The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld the convictions and sentences of an Omaha man for killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child. In an opinion released Friday, the Supreme Court said the lower court did not abuse its discretion in the twice-tried case of William Floyd Jr. It also said Floyd’s arguments are without merit. LINCOLN—The state would spend $2 million each of the next two years to continue clearing vegetation from the Republican River, under a bill from Sen. Tom Carlson of Holdrege.
