NEW YORK — An online chain of posts involving Demi Moore apparently sent police to the aid of a California woman having suicidal thoughts.
Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said the San Jose Police Department received a call early Friday from a Dallas resident tipped off to a supposed suicide attempt through the social-messaging site Twitter.
Moore, a popular celebrity Twitterer, was involved in a discussion that began when a user sent the actress what appeared to be suicide notes. Lopez said officers made immediate contact with a 48-year-old San Jose woman and transferred her to a local hospital for “psychiatric evaluation.” He said there were no injuries.
