Denver police pursued a fugitive Monday afternoon before forcing him to crash on the lawn of a Lakewood home.
Fugitive David Stewart fled a home in Denver when officers, following a tip, went there to apprehend him.
Stewart, who has a lengthy criminal record that includes drug and forgery violations, left the home in a black truck, said Sonny Jackson, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.
Police pursued him and a passenger on Upham Street near West 14th Avenue. Police succeeded in using two SWAT vehicles to force Stewart to crash.
Stewart was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Jackson said. The passenger also was arrested.
