LOVELAND, Colo.—A Fort Collins attorney and business owner is suing law enforcement officials to find out why they haven’t arrested anyone in a string of Larimer County burglaries.

The filing by Erik Fischer asks a judge to press officials on why the Loveland and Fort Collins police and the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office haven’t charged a group of people allegedly connected to the 2008 crimes.

Fischer says burglars took more than $15,000 worth of property when they hit the business he co-owns in August. He says enough evidence exists in that burglary and at least two others to charge a Loveland man and possibly others with felony burglary and theft.

Loveland Police Chief Luke Hecker says the investigation is advancing. He says he met with his detectives and is satisfied his department is doing its job.
