Philanthropist and education activist Lola Salazar fulfills a longstanding dream today with the opening of Lola’s Sugar Rush, a shop specializing in favorite candies from days gone by. City officials will help launch the venture by joining her for a giant lollipop smashing ceremony at 10 a.m.; grand-opening festivities continue through the weekend at 2490 W. Main St. in historic Old Town Littleton.
• The Cameo Club’s first Foxy Follies talent show filled the Aurora Fox Arts Center and raised a significant amount for Bessie’s Hope (the former Rainbow Bridge) and for production costs associated with the 2009 Ms. Colorado Senior America pageant. Performers included the reigning Ms. Senior Colorado and founder of Bessie’s Hope, Linda Holloway, and Michelle Rahn of Littleton, the 2004 Ms. Senior America.
